June 26 TW TripDetails to TW trip
Departure:
29 Jun(Sat)
CI 662 0810hrs
Arrival:
8 Jul(Tue)
CI 661 1555hrs
Attending 2 Youth Camps:
1-4 Jul Taipei,
4-7 Jul Kaohsiung June 23 A good deedWas having supper with Rayvin and Donny when suddenly a man seated a few tables away suddenly collapse while eating and got into a fits..
He was foaming by the mouth and trembling vigorously. His pupils were dilated and his face turned purple. A small group of "coffeeshop uncles" gathered to try their best to help. As my back was facing him, I only knew what happene when I hear Rayvin pointing out about the incident than I turned around to check out what's happening. Immediately a few uncles went up to him and shaft a metal spoon into his mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue. Honestly, he looks very scary. He's dressed in a coverall and wears a tag stating that he's a contractor. He has tatoos all over the body and he looks pretty unkept. Apart from seeing such scenes in our deliverance services, I've never witness such an incident in my life before. I went up to him after a few seconds of shock and helped out in the "RESCUE". Another man in his thirties came up to the frontline and together, the both of us decided to tilt him sidewards to allow him to vomit out his food to prevent choking and blockage of air into his windpipe. At this moment, he was also bleeding on his right forehead due to the collision against the floor. We stopped the bleeding and manage to get him to respond to us bit by bit. Slowly we helped him to get his noodles out of his mouth as we guided him to vomit it out. Slowly, the man regained conscious and we slowly got him and sit on the chair. By this time, the crowd has departed and I continue to sit with him, talking to him trying to find out more from him. He was still groggy and doesn't know where he was. The ambulance came and the IC took down my statements as I described the scenario. They took his blood and pulse and they sent him to the hospital.
Through this incident, it got me to think about some issues of life. At the moment of crisis, we all need to make the right decision at the very moment and any wrong move will kill a person. Thank God we made the right choice and got the food out of his mouth and we sustained his life. We saved a man. I was nervous but yet happy about the whole incident that I manage to use my rusty first-aid skills that I learnt during my NS days and help him. If I move in fear and did not go forward, I would not imagine what might happen. I thank the stranger that helped me together in this operation. He waved goodbye to me as I departed from the coffeeshop.
June 19 July 2008..Jul 2008: A period of transition for me
Why Jul 08? Because a series of events will happen to kick start the 2nd half of the year.
29 Jun - 8 Jul *Extended!!! : I'll be flying off w CHC to Taiwan(Taipei) for Missions. They will be having their Youth Camp.
Excited? Yes.. VERY! 1st mission trip in my life! Pst Zhuang and Kong will be there. Wow.. working directly under the man of God! Cool..
Its a pity that I can only go for TWO camps as there are a total of 3 camps (TP - KS - TP)
I'll need to rush back to Sg to kick start my new school term *haha.. i'll miss a FEW days of sch
7 Jul : SIM RMIT Bach in Business Marketing (BBMKG). After a 15-mth period of Diploma in Management Studies(DMS), i'll graduate and embark onto my University curriculum finally [provided i pass my Sem 5 suppplementary paper, or else outcome will be disastrous]. Excited? yeah... but nervous and lost.. gotta step out of comfort zone to face stress formally as a Uni student. Transition I call it.. I'll tend to stress out during periods of transition in my life.
12 - 17 Jul : Bangkok w some WYZ leaders. Departing 8.40pm and arriving 8.05pm. Am I looking fwd to it? Yes and no.. Yes because this trip was planned ages ago... Many of us coming tgt gg to a place where I'm gg to attempt to immitate the Thai accent and hopefully not being bashed up by chao ar guas. We'll be hitting the beach, doing our crazy shopping etc... No because it clashes with my school term. Sch was suppose to start during Aug 08 but they brought it fwd. Sighs.. There i'm feeling very unsettled. I have to skip school as the air tickets are booked already. Sian? Yes.. its like entering into a new env w new friends but yet being labelled a "geng" or "pon-tan" person by strangers(hopefully not). I'm feeling very unsettled. But well.. I'll still go to thailand.
Busy busy and busy for Jul. I won't be around most of the time and I'm quite worried for the CG too. Finally the mbrs have broken thru after the 21-day fast/pry and youth camp. I'll be expecting growth to come. Hopefully the mbrs will stand in the gap and fight the fort while I'm away. I believe they can. Right guys?
So.. do keep me in prys yeah? Pry for gd health, journey mercy, CG growth and find a pretty gf in TW or Bangkok! *lol.. tw preferably cuz i won't know if what I find in thailand is genuine a not. kidding.. pls dun take it seriously.
Cheers,
PS: Thanks mum for all your sponsors especially for the impromtu TW missions. Thanks for ur understanding and encouragement June 16 So grossIf you still recall my indulgence list that I had during my exams period, there's this item stating that I would love to eat Sakae Sushi Buffet.
And I manage to fulfill that item yesterday with some awkwardness..
Don and I went to Marina Sq to do some shopping and decided to embark on our buffet session.
This is my very first time eating buffet w him.
Unlike the teatime buffet, the supper buffet only allows you to eat from 9-1030. In another words - 大战!
The moment we got seated, we click on the screen to place our orders as most of the food on the food belt was either red plate or very limited in variety(purposely one lor..)
So I ordered A LOT(for ard 4-5 person's appetite). And our fren over here ordered a lot too not knowing that eccentric Edwin has already gotten enough food to store in the store house for a month. So when the food came bit by bit.. we were shocked!
Its a table full of food! I was busy gobbling all the food. From the sushis, to the handrolls and I even ordered a bowl of my favourite Kitsune Udon! Ya.. DON!!!
In the end.. we really couldn't finish. First time man..
So paiseh...
I was telling Donny the stories of the past on how I bia stun and did funny things to avoid detection of food wastage. By this time, many of the staff were already eyeing on our table waiting to pounce on us and charge us! Don was so confident and kept refusing to believe that they will actually charge us for food wastage! He was saying that they are just trying to intimidate us with scare tactics and will not want to lose us as customers...
In the end, when we wanted to call for the bill.. they really charge us! Our friend was like "erm..we haven't finish eating yet. who say we can't finish"
Haha.. after a few rounds of discussion, we conceeded. So PAISEH la.. the manager came and actually sat down to count all the missing and messed up food that we've attempted to fake it through.
So embarrassing... in total 5 plates were charged to our account! So malu.. first time in our lives eat buffet kenna charge for food wastage. so we left the place with embarrassment and still thinking of thoughts like "we should have... just now". (i think its so farni lar.. cuz we're just so 不甘愿)
it was a gross gross buffet that went soooo wrong.
But aniwae.. tks for the treat bro! u've oways been nice =)

June 05 so happy4 Jun..
a day that I've been so gan chiong and anxious about..
my "babies" sitting for their preliminary exams..
yes, was given the responsibility this year to form a youth band for the camp!
nv has it been done before in the entire history of WYZ..
so the stress factor is there as its "HISTORY IN THE MAKING" moment..
after 1.5 months of selection and practices...
the band and vocalists sat for their "exams" today - to be vetted thru by Pst.
Its their dreams for the debutants.. most of them under 21.. youth... future generation of the church!
They're not professionals.. not trained, no experiences but they have the heart and eagerness to learn..
Every week when we come together for practices...
sometimes dunno whether to cry or laugh.. they're always just not there yet.
cannot flow well.. cannot co-ordinate. and they're creating more noise than music!
but as i see their determination to perfect it and the progress made...
all the scoldings and long sessions were worth it.
I'm so happy..
today pst gave them a taste of the pie..
allowing the team to play for the pry mtg. it was a breakthru!
they did very well today. so proud of them..
not perfect, still got room for imprvmt but as a rookie, there's nothing more i could ask for!
I'm really so priviledged to be serving in this team. Its really wonderful to sit back this year and train up ldrs of the next generation.
I realise the joy of seeing others succeed is much more than you "break-away" urself. Its awesome..
tks pst for this opportunity.. I will not let u down
Thanks to the band team: Pinde, Gary, Weisheng and Khoon Fai
To my wonderful BVs: Schumann, Jodie, Chow Tee..
And I'm so proud of my fella CGLs that led today... Lynn and Hui mei and of cuz Bryna on the tertiary side.
u guys rox!
looking fwd for more explosiveness for the camp!!!
(eh.. my band muz take a pic tgt!!!!) hehe... jus randomly took a pic w Karuna(Cynthia's sis)...
cheers
